It all began with the building of a “Cold water cure” establishment in 1894 by Dr August Grüne, who was a medical student and thereafter a student of Sebastian Kneipp. The healing methods of Kneipp convinced him. Thereafter, the Kneipp sanatorium began but unfortunately had to close in 1973. One has to thank the intensive medical work of the family Grüne , that Olsberg was recognized by the state as a Kneipp spa resort in 1960.
